DESCRIPTION:
EPW - Le Roy a Paris, gold and enamel watch for Turkish market, 49mm, 18K gold (tested) OF original Le Roy case with magnificent polychrome champlevé enamel floral detail to rear, bezel, and pendant, pink enamel to band and bow, signed gold cuvette, white enamel dial with Turkish market numerals, KWKS (key not included with this lot), cylinder escapement, 10J, gilt Lepine caliber mvt, s#15557 to cuvette. Gross weight of assembled watch 47.6 dwt (74.1 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: NR, fully wound, will tick with excess pressure held to winding arbor, overhaul needed, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, some scattered fine to micro-fine scratches, some mild haze and scattered spots to gilt surfaces; dial with few very faint hls between 2 and center; excellent minute hand, hour hand missing its tip; case shows little wear, no dents or dings, case with beautiful overall enamel detail but we suspect rear may have had a professional quality restoration of its enamel as its condition is not congruent with other portions of case, case rear is essentially cosmetically perfect throughout devoid of scratches, flakes, or other flaws aside from a solitary minuscule pinpoint nick at center, as opposed to bezel and pendant which each have some scattered small flakes of loss (the most notable of these areas is to bezel adjacent hinge area with some flakes between 7:30 and 8:30), if the rear enamel was indeed restored the work was of ideal top quality; tight bow with little enamel remaining, push shows light wear; glass bull's-eye crystal with small scratch left of center.
